This trinket basket is made with brown ash wood splint and hand-braided sweetgrass in a traditional style. Ash is dyed a medium blue, with a sweetgrass ring handle. This 3 1/2″ diameter basket is perfect for any spot in your home to provide vibrant color with high-quality construction. Many of these trinket baskets in all sizes and shapes were made prior to and after the turn of the century. Size: 3 1/2″ diameter x 3″ tall (4″ with ring handle).

Reading the book, Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer, made me not only aware of the ancient knowledge of the indigenous people, but also their love of nature and basketmaking skills. Once I found Deborah Gabriel Brooks, I sensed that I had found the perfect person to create a basket for me. From the day I contacted her, she stayed in touch with me till I had received the final product. She always wrote back very quickly, was there to guide me with colors, materials and size of the basket. The Trinket Basket is absolutely beautiful, and my friend who received this special gift, will love and cherish this quality Passamaquoddy basket forever. It was pure joy to work with Deborah, and having been able to work with this authentic Wabanaki weaver has enriched my life.
